GO Bears!!!

Just had to share how cute she is deck'd out in Daddy's favorite Team. She can't say Chicago ... so it comes out more like Ka-kahgo bears :) Found this cute shirt at Old Navy (What?!) Lucky for me the only one they had left was a 2T, I'm on the hunt at other locations to find 3 & 4T - so we'll be set for years to come!!
She was so excited to show Daddy his surprise - Her new "football shirt" she barely had it on and one leg in her jeans before she was trying to come down the stairs, yelling for him "daddy i got surprise"....

Friday FUN DAY

I try to leave work at 4pm on Fridays for multiple reasons, and 1 being more time with little person. We've been having our special adventures that included the ice cream day you saw here! Maybe we'll post pone something so messy for a while. I don't know if I'm over the sticky-ness yet.
Today we went by a little park. The good thing we were the only one so Hannah got to Rule the Kingdom. As only a toddler attention span dictates - swing, run, slide, bridge, back to slide, more running, swing - you get the picture. Here's a glimpse of her getting so big and independent.

Trike Update

Today was a BIG day .... We started peddling all by ourself!!! YUP, foot by foot we're getting there :)
Hannah only would go a few feet then need a jump start but, she's getting the feel.

Ice "Dream" - Who's dream?

Yes, you see it correctly, Hannah got to have a treat of Ice Cream or Ice Dream as Chick-Fil-A calls it. A warm Friday afternoon with a nice breeze and mommy actually got out of work at 4:00!!  Why go home right away, no way. Happiness was screaming in the back seat when the word "ice cream" was slightly mentioned. So we shared a yummy treat. Stickiness was expected, wipes were close at hand. What wasn't counted on was the stickiness would be all over her legs too... Oh my! I guess a two year old doesn't understand the paying it forward philosophy when in t-minus one minute after the ice "dream" was gone we bit mommy because we didn't want to walk down the sidewalk, get in the car, sit in the carseat. Ahhh to be two!

New Bike

I've only been looking for a tricycle since before her birthday... It became quickly apparent that stores run out of outdoor items in early spring :) Lesson Learned! So in an effort not to pay outrageous shipping cost of online retailers - I've been surfing Craigslist (but, of course)

I stumbled across this little cutie for a steal. It's a brand I've been looking for and it's made with over 95% recycled materials. So what could make mommy even happier? Even though my hunt was NOT for a "PINK" bike - The deal on this one was irresistible.

Spoke to the dad that was selling it and with such a typical married couple story : He purchased this one for his little princess and his wife not to long after found the exact replica of the one she had as a kid, so who won? You guessed it! So this little bike was ridden all of 2 times!

Hannah's still figuring out how to push down and circle the pedals but, is getting much better! I'm sure I'll be posting shots to come of her zooming away!

Giddy-Up Cowgirl

This week was spirit week at Hannah’s School. We’ve had a rainbow day (tacky day), PJ day, Sports Day – you get the picture ... Well today was “CAREER DAY” ---- umm what is in a 2yr olds wardrobe to dress them up as a career ?
Let’s see, a hand-me-down outfit that is in true Cowgirl style and of course!!!

We just had to accompany the ensemble with Mommies Cabbage Patch Horse (yes it’s from the 80’s here folks) that we’ve named “Pollo” after my Best Friend Tricia's Arabian that looks like just like it. Had to snap this pictures early before she wore her breakfast and lunch on the white shirt.

"GO IN TIMEOUT"

It would seem that Hannah has decided every inadimate object needs "timeout" time. Some are understood and some plain just aren't. The other day a book fell of her chair and hit her leg - so with out me seeing she put the book in time out grabbed her timeout timer and I came around the corner and asked what she was doing and she said. "Not Nice Book" "Book need timeout". Okay fine...
Baby dolls of course have thier moments tooo, she will state that they hit or something else that is obvious what SHE gets in trouble for at school :)
The ones that baffle me are in the car, we drive by big pick-up trucks she says all the time that they need to go into time out and "Not Nice Truck"?? Hmmmm.... Not sure on this?!
Mercy of course get's his fair share in in time-out if he steals food or runs through the house to fast and knocks her down. At least he complies, we sit him in the timeout corner and ususally he stays - I don't think he gets the reprocussions quite as Hannah does.

Ouchie!

Hannah had her two year Doctor Appointment today
Statistics
Weight : 25lbs 6oz
Height : 33-35 inchs (we squirmed quite a bit & didn't want to stand against the ruler - so 4 try's later we have an estimate)

Typically she handles shots with ease and no side effects have ever been noticed.
Today a bit of a different story. Poor muchkin ran warm all day & limped. Her daycare teachers had to change her into her spare shorts because they were looser. Even though she was whiney, she said some cute things about how her leg hurt and what she wanted me to do make it better. On the flip side, I took complete advantage of a little one that wanted to cuddle instead of run circles around me :)

RAINBOW
Ironically as part of thier curriculum the kids had a day this week they learned about rainbows! Today after some big thunderstorms we had a full rainbow appear on our way home. I snapped a few pictures of her admiring what the sunshine and raindrops make :)

Mommy & Hannah Day

It's Mid-Month Crunch for Daddy, So Hannah & Mommy had a Fun Day Together!
Our day was filled with Games outside with a big playground ball and we drew Daddy a picture to let him know we were thinking of him.
After helping mom do some weekly cleaning - of course by singing the "clean-up" song from school - I'm not sure how it goes but, Hannah sure knows how as she sings it LOUD around the house
We topped our afternoon off with a few errands - Getting Stickers at the Dollar Store & using a "get one free" coupon at Micky D's for a Smoothie .... "MMMM Hannah Like it" (She'll be sure to tell you what she likes and doesn't like sometimes both in the same sentence :)

To end our day we had Pizza and a movie - Which included Dora the Explorer of course - Thank goodness for On-Demand TV :)

After a long day of fun - Mom and Hannah got to cuddle in bed - You'd think staying up a little later than normal would of had her sleep in more - NEGATIVE we got up at 7a.m. on the dot
Ready to start it all over again!

1 Year Ago : We lost our Furrbaby

I can't believe that it's been a whole year!
I know there will never be another pet that could ever fill my heart like he did. I will forever miss and Love him!
Hannah had a special attraction to him when he was around - Maybe it was that he gave the biggest kisses or that he'd let her pull on those long lips of his :)

Let's Try this Again

So I'm well aware that it's been virtually two years since I tried to Blog. So, why not give it a solid shot again?!?!

Hannah's moved on into the wonderful world of Two's!

Our days are filled with "NOs" and tantrums. Along with the ongoing trial & error of potty training. We resorted to the reward of M&Ms  - Yes, I broke down and gave the child chocolate. The allure of chocolate animal crackers were not what they first were. Although they had their successful moments - she get's that her friends at school are getting something else!

School
The teachers at Hannah's school are fabulous! Not only do they do her hair almost everyday (How they pull such wispy fine hair back, I still have no idea)

(French Braids)

(Twist & Poof)

Hannah can attempt to sing you her ABC's - skipping a few but, mostly has it ! She does great picking letter magnets off the frig and telling me which ones they are. She is really getting into counting as well! We've been counting the steps in the house for months but, now she get's that other stuff can be sorted and counted more and more. I'm in shock when she does this stuff!!!

Lately our favorite thing is books, books & more books. If we read the stories enough times she will recite them with you!!! At school the class favorite is "Panda Bear, Panda Bear What do you See?" (by Eric Carle) So typically any other book at home or in the car is appropriated to that story line - She will pick out images from current book and say in the sing songy voice asking "kitty cat, kitty cat what do you see?" even if that isn't what the book is about. It's quite entertaining when she turns the books around like She's the teacher to read to me in the car (or to her baby doll - "baby Mya")

Stay Tuned - We'll try to keep you more and more up to date on the happenings and growing up of Hannah!

Outside my Work Window

I'll have to post a picture - But, in my very large business park that I work in, they have set a side spaces of land for mini-parks thru out the development. My desk faces out towards a very large grassy area that has three Ginormous!! Statues of Bulls. One is laying down upright - one laying down with head down and the third reclining also laying down. When I say huge I mean it (again picture to come)
Different days have had a variety of "excitement" out by them - I've sen people train there dogs - have a play-date and / or picnic - Around Halloween Development representatives had pumpkins and other fall stuff around them for a photo and then the decorations were gone ?
Today they're are workers out there - either cleaning them or polishing them. Not sure of the material they're made of but, it's some type of metal.
Now while the workers were doing thier thing - a Random Jogger decided that this area would be great to stop and do thier version of the sun salutation in Yoga. He was out there for quite some time as if the polisher's in thier big bright yellow outfits couldn't distract him
And that's today out my Work Window
To be continued

My Toes!!!

We just found our toes and now whenever they're "free" they become her favorite toy. She even will tug on them through her feety pajamas. She's so amazed as to those belonging to her.

She Rolled Over!

Hannah has been working a lot lately on moving her body in a whole new way for herself. She's been kicking her legs high and she's been able to accomplish moving in circles, especially in her crib. It has not been uncommon to find her 180 degrees from where she started. During play time she's been rolling to her side and we've been encouraging her with toys for her to reach for. Hannah has been so close for the past week, she would have her top leg all the over for momentum, her head cocked back to make room - then it would seem that last shoulder was just getting in the way unless she had a gentle nudge from mom or dad. I had her on her play mat last night where she was going for a toy and this time got her body fairly flat on her belly but, that last shoulder still in the way. But not this morning! She was stirring a bit on the monitor and when I went to check on her she was in a baby push-up on her belly. She has preferred laying on her left side and despite our efforts to slide her to back, she's been sleeping that way. So does her mom and dad.

Floor Frustration

So my excitement of getting my Hardwoods is dwindling fast. Monday the crew came out and ripped up all the carpet & linoleum - When they went to open the boxes of flooring the color didn't match what we selected. Same brand, same color written on the box - Just not stained the same - So we opted to get the right color. Our installer had to order from distributer to his wharehouse and it was supposed to be here yesterday and they were to install today. WELLL we're guessing because of the Gas issues - The delivery is delayed!!!!! So we have been living upstairs completely for 4 days. Jon jokes that we can get sidewalk chalk and play four square or hopscotch on our concrete floors... I'm soo over it! I'm limited what I can do and cooking dinner is a challenge - SIGH!

Juxtapose

I found it only fitting to take a picture of Hannah in the same outfit she went home in from the Hospital on 9-16-08

Back to Work??

Sigh.... So I've been offered a job ... ironically back with a previous company
So I went on my "interview" yesterday and now have a BIG BIG Decision to make...
I think it's a no brainer ... I just have to convince my emotions and heart. Waking up this a.m. and looking at Little Person doing her happy thing I couldn't help but, think how I won't get to just sit and watch her in the a.m. like I do now... Specially lately since she has begun to discover her world even more lately - Making new noises and grabbing and exploring something new EveryDay!!! I also can't help but, think of all the "special" things we do thru out our days - Like baby exercise and our baby education .... I know I should feel oh so lucky that life's little obstacles actually gave me 3 months home with my daughter ... So I'm going to focus on that positive thought as I make my decision to go back to work

So the boys had to be able to watch the games - So we went to the brand new Hickory Tavern by our house. Hannah Was awesome even if some excited football fans got a little loud in the early game. After lunch Hannah and myself left daddy to watch the rest of the days games! Go Bears!

12 weeks Old

Is She really going to be 12 weeks on Monday? I can't believe it! Here's a few pics from her 11th week
